And all the house is asleep.
Living in a a house this year, with 7 wonderful roommates! Couldn’t be happier. I am working as Santa’s Helper this holiday season, along with tutoring at Laurelhurst Elementary. It has been a busy fall quarter, and with only 2 weeks left I am attempting to focus more than ever, attempting being the key word. Coffee with Claire at our kitchen table now!

going on a hike with Shelbyrae and Wendy today

P.S. Birthday is coming up.
I’m totally stoked
I do. And it is a thorough documentation of my life from 2003 until 2005.
Pretty insane, right?
April and I decided to go eat pho for dinner tonight. After pho, Starbucks, as usual. And while sitting in Odeggard reminiscing about our childhood the subject of Xanga came up. Low and behold I remembered my password and we proceeded to spend the last hour reading our old blogs from 9th grade, and laughing at how ridiculous we were.
It really was quite a treat.
This weekend Jessie and I went on an adventure of Hispanic proportions!
Note: Learned in my Latina Theater class that Hispanic is an offensive word.
HISPANIC
Refers to people of Latin American Ancestry in the U.S. The term dates back to the 1960s, when it was used by the Nixon Administration as a new category in the U.S. population census. The U.S. government used the term as a catch-all to include all Spanish-speaking people, enabling politicians to appeal to all Latinos as once. The term ignores the great diversity of cultural backgrounds in the Spanish-speaking population and falsely assumes that these groups have a common identity. The term also implies Spanish ancestry, as its literal meaning pertains to ancient Spain and does not account for the indigenous and or African roots present in many Latino cultures. Hispanic is used more frequently by marketers and the general public more than by the people it describes, some of whom find the term offensive.
I‘m Mexican though, so I can use whatever word I so choose.
Craving the lovely Mexican food we both enjoy so much, after a stop at the local Radio Shack we were informed the best mexican food in the U-District is located next to the Key Bank on 45th!
Seeing is as an opportunity for adventure we embarked on our quest!
Mi Charrito Taqueria is where we ended up. Lively atmosphere, Mexican music videos on the TV, yellow walls, Diego Rivera pictures, I felt like I was at my own home!
And Alejandro Fernandez was playing when we entered, how perfect is that?
It was meant to be!

Flautas!!!! Jessie found a place to charge her phone!
Then we went to Bartell’s, met a nice old man who showed us dollar tricks. Then to Trabaunt, where it seemed as though all of the Drama crowd was assembled.
